Rose to Nowhere

One of the most unique takes on a rose fragrance. The saffron, spice, and leather make for a gorgeous compliment to the arid rose. Michael has made some stunners in his time, but this may be the best from the house. It is an amazing fragrance.

I'm a longtime fan of rose and have tried and loved so many over the years. By this point in my fragrance journey, I seriously doubted that I would find anything else rose-related with the ability to WOW me. Thank God for brands like FTSOI and perfumers like Michael who are seeking to raise the bar. RTN is a rose that defies the usual categories we love to place the note in and therefore is what makes it so appealing and interesting to enthusiasts like myself. There is a granular aspect here, a little gritty and dirty that is both virile and sexy. Think dry desert. I suspect a bit of that is derived from the leather in conjunction with the accords Michael has so cleverly concocted here of "desert moss" and "amber sands". He is the absolute best at creating particular feels and textures with such accords. Long story short... if you love rose... if you are looking for a DIFFERENT rose... don't pass this one up. Grab a sample, at least, and give it a shot. I'll bet you'll fall for it like I did!

Not a gothic rose, or dried rose, or sweet or jammy rose, and not even a pink petal or dewy green spring rose. This is one of those roses that is elusively rare and hidden behind an olfactory veil; one made of sheer black and shimmering quietly in the light. It took me a few times of catching this on skin to understand what kinds of stories could unfold. This is a rose to witness and not to pluck from its assured and steady placement in the ground. I love the desert imagery because I can feel the mysterious sands filling your nostrils up duskily and the feeling of dark crimson petals cascading to the ground silently. I can’t help getting some imagery of a cowboy with a leather saddle kicking up dust and staring on reverently and you catch all of this up in a whirlwind of sorts. But most of all, I just feel and smell blackened petals drying, and the aroma is very, very captivating. Such a beautiful and unique rose fragrance for all to wear and I can understand why it’s a compliment getter. The Saffron and Cedarwood give it this sexy sophistication while the Rose and Citrus keep it from billowing into darkness.
