JOURNEY: Did I say one scoop...better make it two. This summer gourmand opens with a modern twist on a childhood classic; rainbow sherbet. Lemon, kumquat, raspberry, and kaffir lime call to mind a scoop of the tasty treat, melting fast under the summer sun. As you walk carefree down Main Street, the winds swirl a breeze of florals lining the sidewalk. Beneath your scoop of rainbow sherbet, a second scoop of something new; lavender ice cream. Its calming, floral creaminess surprising your senses. Like skin in the hot sun, a vetiver-salted musk radiates while the last remnants of your treat melt away into a soft vanilla on your cedar wood spoon. We better get home before the street lights turn on. 

INSPIRATION: "The idea for this perfume comes from childhood memories. Growing up in a small town, walking everywhere was our pastime. That included to the local ice cream purveyor. Rainbow sherbet was always a summertime staple. I wanted to capture that essence in a perfume, with a new twist on the classic lemon, raspberry, orange, and lime. Lavender ice cream was always an endearing flavour that I wanted to add a scoop of to this youthful scent; if only to remind us all that there was once a time when we wished to be ‘grown up’. This perfume is meant to make you feel young again…without all the sugar. When a sign that read, 'No shirt. No shoes. No service' was grounds for debate. Enjoy."

Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled. So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. We believe a perfume shouldn’t be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!

A compliment getter

last night I wore Lovin’ Spoonful and two fraghead men at my job (one a coworker and one a customer) asked the same question “what are you wearing tonight?” And I seem to get that question from men with this and always women with wasteland warrior. I think there is a kind of freshness as this dries down on my skin that feels kind of sweet, like the drip of sherbet melting. It is an instant mood booster for me, and my whole shift at work I walked around smiling ear to ear from how it puts pep in my step. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed how it is a total uplifting perfume or the first time it’s garnered compliments, and I only live off off of a sample of this atm, but I gave away my sample last night to the customer because Michael recently gave me a sample in my last order. I personally totally delight in the kind of lime/y note in this perfume because it’s one of my favorite notes, but here it is almost a creamy lime, and the sweetness in this is so lovely. If you love dreaming in oud, and the citrus brightness and delight it brings, you would adore lovin’ spoonful.
