INSPIRATION: "I actually came up with the idea for this fragrance unexpectedly when I was working on another perfume idea. I realized the base notes formed a gorgeous perfume in itself. It reminded me instantly of bare skin, in the best possible way. It is now one of my wife's favorite scents. Every day she gets home from work, I can still smell it on her with only one or two sprays to the nape of her neck. You'll even catch me wearing it from time to time. Intoxicating..."

Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled. So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. We believe a perfume shouldn’t be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!

Ingredients: Alcohol Denat., Fragrance (Parfum), Water (Aqua).
Cruelty-free and no parabens, pthalates, or dyes.

All Sales are Final. For cosmetic product safety concerns, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Due to the fact that scent is very personal and expectations vary from person to person, we encourage all customers to purchase samples of our fragrances before purchasing a full bottle.

Free standard shipping on domestic orders. All orders usually ship within 2 business days. We can currently only ship within the USA.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

A lovely warm skin-but-better scent

Nearly Nu is a warm, fuzzy vanilla that also is like a “molecule” scent in the way it is subtle yet long lasting. Skin-scents are often laundry-like or soapy, so this is a nice change.

Perfect signature scent

I have been looking for a signature scent for years. I have tried dozens of designer, niche, and indie fragrance samples. If it is a vanilla or “your skin but better” perfume I have tried it. Nearly Nu is the only full bottle I have purchased.
I am so impressed and delighted by it. I think this perfume is a work of art. Michael has managed to turn 3 common notes into something truly complex and unique, yet natural and easy to wear. It is both familiar and comforting, and intriguing and elegant.
I get a mostly linear, sweet (but not sugary or cloying) vanilla kept from being gourmand by wafts of herbal musk and floral iris. It is soft but it lasts all day. It’s clean, but less shower fresh and more just out of a long bath in a claw foot tub with French bath milk. People can smell it when they get close; I get compliments when I hug people. I think this leans feminine but I recommend anyone who likes these notes or this style to try it as it seems like the kind of scent that would smell different but good on anyone.

Unashamedly beautiful!

I have a massive collection of scents, and while this falls in the your-skin-but-better category, it really is unlike anything I have. This is so gentle and unassuming. If the scent were a person they would be the prettiest, most grounded, nicest human you’ve ever met. A beautiful easy-reach that is equal parts subtle and special. Well done, Michael.
